چکیده

An improved Metal Solar Wall (MSW) with integrated thermal energy storage is presented in this research. The proposed MSW makes use of two, combined, enhanced heat transfer methods. One the methods characterized by filling tested ducts a commercially available copper Wired Inserts (WI), while other one uses dimpled or sinusoidal shaped duct walls instead plane walls. Heat Transfer Enhancement of Laminar Nanofluids Flow in a Circular Tube Fitted with Parabolic-Cut Twisted Tape Inserts

Numerical investigation has been carried out on heat transfer and friction factor characteristics of copper-water nanofluid flow in a constant heat-fluxed tube with the existence of new configuration of vortex generator using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulation. Two types of swirl flow generator: Classical twisted tape (CTT) and Parabolic-cut twisted tape (PCT) with a different twist ...

Average Heat Transfer Coefficient in Rectangular Ducts with Baffle Blockages

An experimental investigation was conducted to study the average and the fully-developed heat (mass) transfer coefficients in a rectangular smooth duct and a duct with repeated-baffle blockages. The focus of attention in this work is the conventional correlation Nu / Nufd 1 + C / ( X / D ) for the average heat transfer coefficient. It was shown that for relatively short ducts, the coefficient C...

Heat Transfer Enhancement in Ducts Due to Acoustic Excitation

The thermoacoustic effect that results from the interaction of a sound wave in a compressible fluid in contact with solid boundaries is known to be capable of removing heat from power dissipating systems. In this paper the standing wave acoustic field that is generated in an open ended duct, a section of which is heated, and how it interacts with the aerodynamic flow field is examined by an exp...

Numerical Investigation of Heat Transfer and Friction Factor Characteristics in a Circular Tube Fitted with V-Cut Twisted Tape Inserts

Numerical investigation of the heat transfer and friction factor characteristics of a circular fitted with V-cut twisted tape (VCT) insert with twist ratio (y = 2.93) and different cut depths (w = 0.5, 1, and 1.5 cm) were studied for laminar flow using CFD package (FLUENT-6.3.26). The data obtained from plain tube were verified with the literature correlation to ensure the validation of simulat...
